SF Garter Featured on Freeway Pillar Mural

A freeway pillar at the interchange of Interstate 280 and Highway 101 in San Francisco is now, thanks to a local beautification project, the home of a mural featuring the endangered San Francisco Garter Snake, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. The mural, designed by 19-year-old Cory Ferris and painted by a crew from Precita Eyes Muralists, can be seen from below at the intersection of Alemany Boulevard and San Bruno Avenue, beneath the interchange (here is the pillar in Street View, before it was painted; here are photos of the mural).
