Contact Me

If you have a question about garter snakes or garter snake care, be sure to spend some time reading this website first. Please read through the care guide, browse the articles and check the Q&A section: your question may already have been answered. I simply do not have as much time as I would like to answer every question; if your question is very similar to one that has already been answered, or is a “yes-but” follow-up about your specific circumstances (that are 95% covered by what I’ve already written), I probably won’t be able to answer it.

If you are suddenly facing a litter of newborn garter snakes and you’re not sure what to do, start by reading The Seven Rules of Reading Baby Garter Snakes; for more details, see Raising Baby Garter Snakes: Some Personal Observations.

Many of you are writing in to ask about how to get rid of garter snakes in your house or yard. If they’re turning up in winter, see my article, Garter Snakes in Winter, plus my answers to questions about finding garter snakes in the house; if you’re finding snakes in your yard, see the FAQ on my personal site. Please keep in mind that I’m in favour of having snakes around: I’m not going to be very sympathetic to people who can’t stand them or want them killed.

To contact me about something other than garter snakes, use the contact page on my personal site.

Otherwise, use the form on the following page to send me an e-mail.
