Legal Status in Arizona
A hunting or combination license is required to collect wildlife. Mexican and Narrow-headed Garter Snakes are protected and may not be collected; a maximum of four may be kept if they were legally held before 2005. A bag limit of four per year applies to other species. Commercial collecting is prohibited.
